Princess Tori Tarantino

Who is your favorite Harry Potter Character?

Definitely Dumbledore. He always comes just in time to save Harry Potter from Voldemort and I love that.

What career did you want when you were younger? What about now?

When I was younger I think I wanted to be a veterinarian or maybe a doctor. Now I’m interested in maybe starting my own food related business one day or going into something involving nutrition.

If you could go on The Amazing Race with an MC Staff Member, who would you pick and why?

I would probably take Mrs. Jaeger. She would be able to think on her toes and would help get us through all the adventures.

What’s an embarrassing moment you’ve had during your time at MC?

I can’t think of one, but I’m sure there are many. I just try to erase them from my mind. I probably have an embarrassing moment at least once a week.

What’s your favorite song?

Hmmm that’s a tough one, but probably “Where is Love?” by the Black Eyed Peas. I always jam out to that song! I’m always down for some Beyonce or even some throwback songs too.

If you could design a class at MC, what would it be (and why)?

Definitely a cooking class. It’s an essential skill in life and it would so fun to participate in that class. More people need to know how to cook good food. Also, I just really love to cook and bake myself.

What is your most ridiculous fear?

Heights. I absolutely hate heights. My palms always get sweaty and my heart races a million miles per hour.

What has been your proudest accomplishment during your time at Marin Catholic?

I’d say all my involvement in leadership activities around school. I absolutely love being a part of as many groups as I can give my time to. I think this is what has made my MC experience so amazing!

Emily Farrell

Princess Emily Farrell

Who is your favorite Harry Potter Character?

Ron Weasley is the best character. Easy.

What career did you want when you were younger? What about now?

When I was younger I had a weird obsession with zoo keepers and really wanted to be one. Now I really want to do something within marketing and my love for sports.

If you could go on The Amazing Race with an MC Staff Member, who would you pick and why?

Mr. Stewart. Best person on this campus. I could talk to him for hours.

What’s your favorite song?

Any John Mayer or Justin Bieber song. Both are equally talented.

If you could design a class at MC, what would it be (and why)?

Probably a home ec class. With your friends cooking and cleaning. That would be pretty fun.

What is your most ridiculous fear?

The pool cleaners on the bottom of the pool. Those things are absolutely terrifying.

What has been your proudest accomplishment during your time at Marin Catholic?

Running for student council my sophomore year, it brought me out of my comfort zone and lead me to future years of student council and school involvement. It truly shaped my high school career, and allowed me to meet new people and try new things without being scared.

Sam HoranPrincess Sam Horan

Who is your favorite Harry Potter Character?

Professor McGonagall. Great woman. Great heart.

What career did you want when you were younger? What about now?

When I was younger, I wanted to be a mail woman. Looked like the coolest job ever. Now I’d like to be a doctor and work with people who need prosthetics.

If you could go on The Amazing Race with an MC Staff Member, who would you pick and why?

I’ve got to go with Ms. Smith… I mean come on, you saw how she carried the team on her back in the two on two princess basketball game.

What’s an embarrassing moment you’ve had during your time at MC?

Junior year I was talking on the microphone at the freshman social and… let’s just say it was the worst voice crack you’ll ever hear.

What’s your favorite song?

“Man in the Mirror” by Michael Jackson

If you could design a class at MC, what would it be (and why)?

I think it would be super cool to have a class where different professions are learned about so kids can really think about what they want to be. People who have those professions could come in and talk all about their profession and kids can see what they’re interested in.

What is your most ridiculous fear?

Elevators are the absolute worst.

What has been your proudest accomplishment during your time at Marin Catholic?

Receiving Academic All-American for lacrosse Junior year.

Susan Flores-ChavezPrincess Susan Flores-Chavez

Who is your favorite Harry Potter Character?

I hope no one hates me when I say this, but I’ve never seen Harry Potter other than 30 minutes of it on the plane ride to Thailand. But I only was able to see some of it because the plane was landing. However, I really like Dumbledore from the 30 minutes of seeing it.

What career did you want when you were younger? What about now?

When I was younger I wanted to be a teacher or a doctor. Now, I’m hoping to be a pediatric cardiothorasic surgeon.

If you could go on The Amazing Race with an MC Staff Member, who would you pick and why?

Michelle Vollert for sure. I feel like her energy would be needed for something like this. Plus she always is positive and you’d really need someone who will motivate you.

What’s an embarrassing moment you’ve had during your time at MC?

The only one that comes to mind was just recently at a football game I was trying to climb over the fence to get on the field after the game ended. I started climbing and I fell over. Pretty sure I sprained my ankle but I just went with it. Oh, and the entrance to the field was 2 ft. away but I didn’t even think to check where the nearest entrance was.

What’s your favorite song?

My favorite song to dance to is “Yeah!” by Usher, but to sing it would have to be You Belong With Me by Taylor Swift.

If you could design a class at MC, what would it be (and why)?

Maybe a class that teaches one to do adult stuff like paying taxes maybe or the things we will need to know when we have to adult.

What is your most ridiculous fear?

Being abducted, for sure.

What has been your proudest accomplishment during your time at Marin Catholic?

Maybe winning the Most Inspirational plaque for soccer freshman year because I was a bench warmer, so knowing that my cheers on the sidelines didn’t go unnoticed made me feel good.

Lauren LombardiPrincess Lauren Lombardi

Who is your favorite Harry Potter Character?

Fred and George, I can’t separate them.

What career did you want when you were younger? What about now?

When I was younger all I ever wanted to do was be a professional chef that lived in the Rocky Mountains. Now that I’m older my dream is to work in Finance until I save enough money to travel the world.

If you could go on The Amazing Race with an MC Staff Member, who would you pick and why?

I would go with any of the sisters because they are all smart and we would have an international network of sisters to help us win.

What’s an embarrassing moment you’ve had during your time at MC?

One time, Mr. Thompson was describing his dinner the night before to the whole class, and said my bun looked just like the pork bun he eaten.

What’s your favorite song?

It changes weekly but right now it is “At Last” by Etta James.

If you could design a class at MC, what would it be (and why)?

It would be a class based on self-reflection and having kids explore and examine different types of jobs. The class would be for juniors and seniors only.

What is your most ridiculous fear?

That I will go bald by the end of college.

What has been your proudest accomplishment during your time at Marin Catholic?

My proudest moment at MC was getting people to actually join the math club.

Annie Navone

Who is your favorite Harry Potter Character?Princess Annie Navone

Hermione!

What career did you want when you were younger? What about now?

When I was little, I really wanted to be a veterinarian. But, as I am allergic to cats, I realized that wasn’t very realistic. Now my dream job is to be a teacher!

If you could go on The Amazing Race with an MC Staff Member, who would you pick and why?

I would choose my dad, Mr. Navone. We would have a pretty awesome time together, and he’s super competitive so we would definitely win.

What’s an embarrassing moment you’ve had during your time at MC?

When I was walking down the hallway as a freshman, right as a big group of guys walked by my chocolate chip muffin slipped out of my hand and I kept knocking it around trying to catch it until it fell on the floor.

What’s your favorite song?

Any Brother Isaiah song. I absolutely love him.

If you could design a class at MC, what would it be (and why)?

An all senior class strictly for relaxing and taking a study break. We all need an hour of this a day!

What is your most ridiculous fear?

Claymation totally freaks me out. And Moths! I’m TERRIFIED of moths!

What has been your proudest accomplishment during your time at Marin Catholic?

Definitely being chosen as a Kairos leader and getting to lead my class on this amazing retreat. I am so honored to be guiding my classmates towards a stronger relationship with God!

Brooke GrialouPrincess Brooke Grialou

Who is your favorite Harry Potter Character?

Probably Arthur Weasley or Sirius Black

What career did you want when you were younger? What about now?

When I was younger I had a weird obsession with being a spy. I had a lot of spy gear that didn’t even really work but I would prance around with my “night vision goggles” and set up booby traps for my sisters which they would just take down.

If you could go on The Amazing Race with an MC Staff Member, who would you pick and why?

Probably Ms. Stoll. I think she could get me through the race without passing out and provide some motivating words.

What’s an embarrassing moment you’ve had during your time at MC?

There’s a lot but especially when i rode over my backpack in Junior Lot in front of everyone. My computer is still broken and people always ask what happened so it’s still like I have to relive my embarrassment.

What’s your favorite song?

Well it depends what mood I’m in but I am always up for a throwback like “Party in the USA,” “Bop to the Top,” or an Usher song.

If you could design a class at MC, what would it be (and why)?

Probably a class that teaches kids life skills such as filling out a checkbook, how to take out a loan, mortgages, how to budget, how to apply for a credit card, first aid, and other simple tasks like that yet ones that are often overlooked.

What is your most ridiculous fear?

SNAKES! I read an article that a little girl was going to the bathroom when a snake slithered up her drain into her toilet. Now, especially in the shower, I get freaked out that when I open my eyes after washing my hair I’ll see a snake at my feet. They move so creepily and quickly I would honestly pass out. I always avoid the gross senior hall snake as much as possible.

What has been your proudest accomplishment during your time at Marin Catholic?

When I made varsity basketball as a freshman, it was pretty cool to be with all the upperclassmen. They were always there for me, serving as role models.

Alexa Barnes

Princess Alexa Barnes

Who is your favorite Harry Potter Character?

There’s so many, but I’m always impressed by Hermione’s involvement in all sorts of extra curricular activities and her concern for House Elves. Malfoy has grown on me over the years.

What career did you want when you were younger? What about now?

For a while, I wanted to be an actress or a CEO of a design software company, like Adobe. Now, I’d love to do emergency diplomatic negotiations for the State Department, or work for a US Senator, something related to political science.

If you could go on The Amazing Race with an MC Staff Member, who would you pick and why?

Again, a tough choice but I think it would probably be Mr. Cox. He already has all these worldly experiences and I think we would be a good team.

What’s an embarrassing moment you’ve had during your time at MC?

So many to choose from, but one of my highlights would have to be last year on the Junior Overnight Retreat. We were playing this game like charades, and I kept trying to guess what my classmates were acting out, until finally I yelled out “Oh, Hell!” because everyone was pointing down and pretending to read. My team burst out laughing. In hindsight, that was probably not the best guess considering the fact that my team was lead by a priest. The answer was actually Marin Catholic!

What is your favorite song?

I love “Yeah!” by Usher but anything by Hailee Steinfeld, The Script or Ed Sheeran would be a close second, followed by the Hamilton Soundtrack.

If you could design a class at MC, what would it be (and why)?

I haven’t thought of a name for it, but I’d like a seniors-only class focused on projects and skills. The first semester, we would spend time working on our college applications and improving our writing, networking and debating skills. The second semester, everyone would conduct a research project or intern. It would be a great way to get our college apps done and develop real world skills.

What is your most ridiculous fear?

I’m terrified of animatronics and wax people, I love museums, but I can’t go in the same room as a wax person. My best friend, Kate Freda, can attest to that.

What has been your proudest accomplishment during your time at Marin Catholic?

This summer, I conducted an independent research project on political science and linguistics as part of the Junior Fellowship Program. I studied the intersection of the two fields, and how to apply that knowledge to real situations, which will be helpful in college and beyond. It was really interesting!
