What was your first thought when it was announced that you were Turnabout king?

I was surprised! There was great competition for the king position, and I personally voted for one of the other princes. But I was truly pretty excited, especially because Maggie was Homecoming queen two years ago. When she came home, she was all excited for me.

Where’s the best ice cream in Marin?

I’m not really an ice cream guy, but I know that a nice lemon ice gelato from Silbermann’s is pretty good.

What teacher at MC has had the greatest impact on you?

Mrs. Polizzotti. We’ve always had a pretty great relationship. She wrote my letter of recommendation and she’s always willing to talk about things that are outside of school. Mrs. P is interested in being a friend and mentor above being a teacher. I loved being in her class.

What are you most excited about for next year at Dartmouth?

I’m definitely excited for the snow, but I’m also a little afraid. I’m also really looking forward to meeting a lot of new people from all around the world.

What would you tell your freshman year self?

Don’t be so nervous. Let loose a little.

What is your most guilty pleasure?

Disney music, but I’m not really guilty about that. I listen to a lot of Disney music in my spare time. Boy band music too, I’m a fan of boy band music. I’m actually not guilty, I feel very confident about it.

What are you most grateful for?

I am most grateful for my family, my friends, and the opportunities I have had: to travel to 26 countries, to get my masters, and to work at my alma mater.

What are you most looking forward to as a female athletic director?

I am excited to represent the female athletes. I think Mr. Basso and Mr. Callan have done a really great job, but I think it will be really great to give the girls more of a voice. Hopefully I will be able to positively influence the program.

If you were to write a book, what would it be about?

I would write a book about how people can make a difference in the world. I want to help people know that small actions will have large ripple effects. Or I would love to write a book about traveling. It would be great to have someone pay me to travel to different countries and then write a book about my experiences.

When you were a student at MC, did you ever think you would come back to be a teacher?

Yes! I was sitting in this exact classroom, room 502, and Mrs. Krebsbach was my Global Studies teacher. I always knew that I wanted to be a teacher, because my mom was a third grade teacher. She would always receive cut-out hearts from her students for no reason except that they loved her. I thought to myself that I would rather work with a group of people that I can be a little funny with. I would say that from my experiences with Mrs. Krebsbach, Mrs. Polizzotti, Mr. Lippi, Mr. Thompson, Mrs. Dole, and the countless teachers I had, I knew I was going to come back.

Tell a story about a rally that went horribly wrong.

We’ve had rallies go wrong that I don’t think are funny. But here’s the one that made me laugh the most: we had a prince who was an experienced Eagle Scout with a lot of merit badges. We gave him a sewing project as his activity, and he ended up slicing open his finger! He went missing, and when I went to ask Mrs. Hanley where he was because we need to call him back to the gym, he was in the Emergency Room getting his finger sewn back together.

What is your favorite season and why?

Definitely fall. I love fall. I love the changing weather, the smells. And I really like Halloween and Thanksgiving.
